Kids and Art on the Avenue

Art on the Avenue hosts a variety of events and activities for children of all ages, including Children's' Activities and a Children's Stage.  See the list of activities below.

Children's' Activities

Art on the Avenue provides non-profit organizations a unique method to participate in the festival - by providing an interactive children's activity.  There is no cost to the non-profit for the booth.

A Child's World

Several of this year’s children art activities are under the guidance of professional artists. This is the attempt of the Art on the Avenue committee to have our young attendees experience a more engaging and challenging type of artistic creation. Having artists and experience professionals work with the children, we hope will inspire and lead the children into making their best art creations ever.

Local non-profit organizations will continue to assist with the children’s activities by working with our artists for hands-on creation and collaboration of the child and the artist.

Photographs will be taken of the children at work and of the several of the final pieces. The photographs and some of the art pieces will be displayed in public buildings in the fall.

A Child’s World is partially supported by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
